Ingredients:
- 500g of flour (all-purpose flour)
- 1 cube of fresh yeast (or 1 sachet of dry yeast)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 300ml of lukewarm water
- 50ml of oil (can be sunflower oil, olive oil, or any other oil of your choice)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and a little lukewarm water. Let it sit for a few minutes until the yeast activates.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and the remaining water.
- Knead the dough until all the ingredients are well combined and the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If needed, add a little more flour or water to achieve the right consistency.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth or plastic wrap and let the dough rest in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to release any excess air.
- Shape the dough into your desired shape (e.g., round loaf or ball) and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the dough rest for another 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Before baking, make shallow cuts on the surface of the bread with a knife.
- Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.
Once the bread is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your freshly baked homemade bread!
