    Step1

    Mix melted butter with vanilla extract.

    Step2

    Combine sugar and water in a medium-sized saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved. This syrup will be used later for pouring over the baklava.

    Take a large baking dish and begin assembling the baklava. Layer three sheets of phyllo dough, one by one, in the dish. Brush each sheet with melted butter and sprinkle chopped walnuts over them.

    Apply a layer of melted butter on the top sheet of phyllo dough.

    Now is the time to cut the baklava diagonally to create triangles.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30-40 minutes or until the baklava turns golden brown.

    Step7

    Remove the baklava from the oven and immediately pour the prepared sugar syrup over it. Ensure that the syrup evenly covers every part of the baklava.

    Step8

    Allow the baklava to cool and absorb the syrup before serving.
